Beliefs of Rosedale Baptist Church of Richmond, Kentucky

Bible: We believe that the Bible is God's Word, and that it was written by men divinely inspired. We believe that the Holy Scriptures are inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed, making them the supreme and final authority for faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:15-17)

The Trinity: We believe in one and only one living and true God, who reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. To Holy God we pledge our highest devotion, love, reverence, and obedience. Within the Trinity there exists a perfect love relationship, and we believe that He wishes to reach down and draw us up in that perfect love relationship for all eternity. (Deut. 6:4; John 1:29-34; Acts 4:31)

God the Father: We believe in God the Father, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, and almighty in power. We rejoice that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayers, and that He saves from sin and spiritual death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

God the Son: We believe in Jesus Christ, God's one and only Son, miraculous in His birth, sinless in His life, and making atonement for the world by His death. We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension into Heaven, His perpetual intercession for His people, and His personal, visible return to the world according to His promise. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation and eternal life in Heaven.

God the Spirit: We believe in the Holy Spirit who came from God to convict the world of sin and convince the world of unrighteousness and of judgment; to regenerate, sanctify, and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that all men are by nature and by choice sinners but that "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

Salvation: We believe, therefore, that those who make a personal commitment of faith in Jesus Christ for salvation will rejoice forever in God's presence; but those who refuse to make this personal commitment of faith in Jesus Christ for salvation will forever be separated from God. We believe in the Church as a spiritual body with Christ as its head and with all reborn followers as members.

The Church: We believe that a visible Church is a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized upon a credible profession of faith and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. We believe to this Church were committed, for perpetual observance, the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper; that God has laid on the church the task of persuading the lost world to accept Jesus Christ as Savior, and to exalt Him as Lord and Master. We believe that all human betterment and social improvement are inevitable by-products of such a gospel.

Priesthood of Believers: We believe in the Priesthood of Believers in that each believer in Jesus Christ has direct access to the presence of God, not because of anything that we have done, but all because of the living sacrifice of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:5-9)

Separation of Church and State: We believe in the separation of Church and State. The Church should be free from state and governmental interference into the spiritual work and conduct of the Church. The Church does not desire to control the state in its affairs. (Matt. 22:15-22; Romans 13:1-7)
